Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi is seeking a move away from Valencia before he has to report back to training on July 26th, according to Marca.
Louis van Gaal is hoping to sign a world-class centre back and Otamendi has been heavily linked to the club, as well as Real Madrid.
United may be forced to fork out the €50m (£35m) release clause in the Argentina international's contract if they are to prize away one of La Liga's standout performers last season.
Otamendi, 27, was the highest rated defender in La Liga last term (7.59) and also finished the campaign as most prolific centre-back in front of goal, netting 6 times.
