WhoScored's European Team of the Week: Vinicius Junior and Omar Marmoush dazzle to make XI

 

Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior is the WhoScored European Player of the Week after his match winning display against Osasuna. 

 

Everton, Toulouse, Wolfsburg, Fulham, Auxerre, PSG, Manchester United, Fiorentina and Eintracht Frankfurt are also represented in the XI. 

 

Jordan Pickford (Everton) – 8.39 

 

Jordan Pickford shone in what was a drab affair in east London on Saturday as West Ham and Everton played out a 0-0 draw. Pickford made six saves and two high ball claims to keep a clean sheet and return a WhoScored rating of 8.39.

Aron Donnum (Toulouse) – 8.52 

 

Aron Donnum scored his first league goal of the season as Toulouse claimed a solid 2-0 win at Rennes over the weekend. The 26-year-old struck with one of two shots, while his defensive work helped Toulouse to all the spoils as the Norwegian made three tackles, two interceptions and two clearances. 

 

Denis Vavro (Wolfsburg) – 8.16 

 

Wolfsburg secured a 3-1 win at FC Heidenheim on Sunday afternoon, with Denis Vavro solid at the heart of the defence in the victory. Indeed, Vavro won nine aerial duels at the Voith-Arena, while an additional 14 clearances saw the centre-back return a WhoScored rating of 8.16. 

 

Joachim Andersen (Fulham) – 8.13 

 

Fulham returned to west London with all the spoils in Saturday’s London Derby win at Crystal Palace. Joachim Andersen stood firm at the back for the Whites as he made five clearances, one tackle and one interception to secure his spot in the XI with a WhoScored rating of 8.13. 

 

Gideon Mensah (Auxerre) – 8.05 

 

The first of two Auxerre players to make the XI rounds off the defence. Gideon Mensah got forward well in Friday’s 3-1 win at Marseille, completing four dribbles, while four clearances, three tackles and three interceptions capped a fine showing from the 26-year-old. 

 

 

Kang-In Lee (PSG) – 9.69 

 

Kang-In Lee was directly involved in three of PSG’s four goals in the 4-2 win over Angers on Saturday. The 23-year-old scored twice from four shots and provided one assist from five key passes as the South Korean returned a WhoScored rating of 9.69. 

 

Gaetan Perrin (Auxerre) – 9.45 

 

The second Auxerre player in the side, Gaetan Perrin makes the European Team of the Week for the second week running having earned a WhoScored rating of 9.45 against Marseille. Perrin was directly involved in two of three goals at the Velodrome on Friday night, netting with one of three shots and providing one assist from two key passes. 

 

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) – 8.79 

 

Joining Perrin in the middle of the park is Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes after his Player of the Match performance against Leicester on Sunday. Fernandes scored for the second game running having struck with one of two shots, while he should have had more than one assist having created a total of seven goalscoring chances on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.79. 

 

Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) – 10.0 

 

With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating, Vinicius Junior is the European Player of the Week. Vinicius tore Osasuna to shreds on Saturday, netting a hat-trick with three of six shots and completing seven dribbles. The 24-year-old also made two key passes in what was his best rated La Liga performance of the season.

Moise Kean (Fiorentina) – 9.20 

 

Moise Kean scored for the third league game running as he bagged a hat-trick in Fiorentina’s 3-1 win over Verona on Sunday. Kean got the better of Lorenzo Montipo with three of five shots, while two successful dribbles, one key pass and one tackle saw the Italian land a WhoScored rating of 9.20. 

 

Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt) – 9.11 

 

Egyptian goal machine Omar Marmoush maintained his flying form to partner Kean on the frontline in the European Team of the Week. Marmoush scored his 11th goal and provided his seventh assist of the season as Eintracht Frankfurt secured a 3-2 win at VfB Stuttgart, those coming from respective returns of four shots and one key pass.
