Stoke are interested in signing Manchester United outcast Phil Jones, according to The Daily Mirror.
Sir Alex Ferguson tipped Jones, 24, as a future United captain when he joined from Blackburn in 2011 but he has struggled for fitness for the majority of his United career.
The England international missed almost all of last season through injury and the versatile defender has now dropped down the pecking order below Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.
Jones only made 10 league appearances last season and hasn’t featured competitively since January.
