Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed he is looking for more game time until the end of the season after dropping down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger this season.
Giroud has lost his place in the team to Alexis Sanchez this season but was still happy enough to commit his long-term future to the club when he signed a new deal in January.
However, the France international still isn’t happy about his lack of playing time and is hoping he will feature more often for Arsenal after the international break.
“It is true that I am seeking more playing time with my club and that I need to play matches consistently in order to feel good,” Giroud told Canal Plus, via Get French Football.
“I am working a lot to win back a starting spot, but the coach has several options. So I am not more preoccupied by the situation that that, I have always known to work with humility and I am confident about the future,”
Giroud has only started eight Premier League games this season and has been forced to make a further 12 appearances off the bench. However, despite barely getting on the pitch he has still scored eight goals and registered three assists in that time.
In fact, only Nolito has scored as many goals as Giroud as a substitute in the Premier League this season (4).
