Real Madrid confirm summer signing of Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid have confirmed that Kylian Mbappe will join the club on a free transfer once his PSG contract expires at the end of the month.

Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants for the best part of three seasons but PSG have managed to ward off interest in their star striker.

However, having won the Champions League on Saturday, Real Madrid have since announced that Mbappe will join from the French giants this summer.

"Real Madrid C.F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement under which he will become a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons," a statement read on the club's official website.

Mbappe leaves PSG having guided the club to the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.

The 25-year-old scored more goals (27) in France's top tier last term to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 7.71, that enough to make both the Ligue 1 and European team of the season.

Mbappe becomes the club's first signing of the summer and the aim now for the forward is to fire France to the European Championship in Germany.

It remains to be seen how head coach Carlo Ancelotti will accomodate both Mbappe and Champions League hero Vinicius Junior with the duo operating in a similar position on the frontline.
