Arsenal have resumed their interest in Udinese’s young star Jakub Jantko, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sportwitness.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a keen admirer of the 21-year-old midfielder, who scored five goals and registered four assists in Serie A last season.
Wenger is looking to bring in midfield reinforcements this summer with Santi Cazorla sidelined for the foreseeable future with injury.
Udinese are under no pressure sell Jantko, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal last summer.
However, some reports suggest the player has a release clause in his contract, which could be as low as £6m.
Udinese would be reluctant to cash in on Czech Republic star, who was part of the U21 squad at the recent European U21 Championship, but would be powerless to retain his services should Arsenal trigger the rumoured release clause.
The north London side have already confirmed the signing of Alexandre Lacazette, who joined from Lyon on Wednesday, and are set to move onto their next top targets, with Jantko thought to be high on Wenger’s wish list.
