Chelsea midfielder refuses to rule out move to China

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has refused to rule out a move to China in the future after struggling to establish himself as a first-team regular under Antonio Conte this season.

Fabregas has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea since the start of the season after dropping down the pecking order although the Spain international has acted with immense professionalism in making himself an option for Conte when called upon.

The 29-year-old came off the bench to score Chelsea’s final goal in a 3-0 win over his former club Arsenal on Saturday and has often been a really could option from the bench in recent matches but it still remains to be seen whether he has a long-term future at the club.

Fabregas watched two Chelsea teammates leave for China in January and has not ruled out joining the likes of Oscar and John Obi Mikel in the Far East, although a move to Major League Soccer is his first plan when his stint in Europe is over.

“You never know,” Fabregas told Natacha Tannous in a YouTube interview when asked about moving to China. “Once I don’t think I can play in Europe, my plan at the moment is to go to the United States. But you never know.”

Despite only starting five league matches for Chelsea this season Fabregas has still registered more assists than any other player in the last three Premier League campaigns (31).
