Quartet tracking new Ashley Cole

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are thought to be keeping a watchful eye on young Walsall left-back Rico Henry, reports the Mirror.

The 18-year-old, who can play at wing-back or on the left wing, has been dubbed the new Ashley Cole, such have been the quality of his performances this season.

The Premier League quartet are believed to be keeping tabs on Henry as they look to strenghten their youth ranks in the New Year.

"If I were to liken him to anyone, it would be a young Ashley Cole and it's up to him how far he can now go in the game," Walsall boss Dean Smith said.

"I've recommended him a couple of times to the England Under-19s because, if there's a better left-sided player in the country at 18 years of age, I'd like to see them.

"If he keeps developing and keeps his feet firmly on the ground - his parents will make sure of that - then he'll go the right way."
