Real Madrid reconsider interest in Chelsea ace

Real Madrid are re-considering their pursuit of Eden Hazard following his stuttering form this year, claims the London Evening Standard.

The Spanish giants are plotting an offensive overhaul of their squad in the summer and Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu all season.

Chelsea are desperate to convince Hazard to commit his long-term future to the club but the Belgium international has stalled on a new deal so far this season.

The Blues are on course to finish outside of the top-four and will face a major battle to convince their star players to stay at the club if they miss out on Champions League football.

Manchester City have also been linked with a summer move for the 27-year-old but Chelsea have categorically ruled out dealing with their Premier League rivals even if they receive a world-record fee.

However, Hazard’s stuttering form may actually play into their hands as it has now emerged that Madrid are weighing up whether to make a move or not.

Hazard is now without a goal in his last eight matches for club and country and has only managed to net 15 times in 42 appearances in all competitions this season for Chelsea.
