Manchester United to make £50m bid for England ace in January

Manchester United will make a £50m bid for Tottenham defender Danny Rose in January, reports The Sun.

Jose Mourinho has still not managed to settle on a first choice left-back and Luke Shaw has made little progress since returning from an ankle injury last month.

Ashley Young has established himself as Mourinho’s first choice in recent games, but the United boss is now ready to step up his long-term interest in Rose, who has not featured since the end of January.

The England international has been sidelined for more than nine months with a knee injury and has only just returned to first team training with Tottenham.

It’s reported that Rose would like to move north at one point in his career to move closer to his birthplace Doncaster and that would certainly give United the edge over rivals Chelsea in pursuit of the 27-year-old.

Rose also raised serious questions about his long-term future at Tottenham after lambasting the club’s ambition at the start of the season.

Prior to injury, Rose established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. In fact, no left-back garnered a higher WhoScored rating in the Premier League last season than Rose (7.42).
