Manchester City not interested in Gareth Bale

Manchester City will not make a move for Gareth Bale this summer even if he is free to leave Real Madrid, claims The Guardian.

Bale came off the bench to inspire Madrid to a third straight Champions League title against Liverpool on Saturday before hinting at a possible exit this summer.

The Wales international is due for talks with Madrid president Florentino Perez next week and a decision will likely be made on his future then.

Bale dropped down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane in the last 12 months and revealed after the Champions League final he wants to play every week next season.

Manchester United are expected to revive their interest in Bale if the 28-year-old decides it’s time to return to the Premier League and the Red Devils will not face competition from City.

Pep Guardiola has made bolstering his offensive options a priority this summer but Bale will not be considered by the Premier League champions.

It should mean that Jose Mourinho’s side will have a free run at the 28-year-old’s signature if Bale leaves Madrid.

Despite struggling for regular playing time this season, Bale still scored 20 goals in all competitions for Madrid this season, netting 16 of those in the league.
