Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has played his way back into contention for a Premier League return after impressing at the Toulon tournament with England’s Under-21s, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Off field misdemeanours stifled Grealish’s development this season having entered the campaign with huge promise and links with a high profile move to the likes of Chelsea.
The 20-year-old, who opted to play for England rather than Ireland in September last year, finally made his England debut for the Under-21s in France this month and his impressive form has caught the eye of Premier League scouts.
Tottenham and Everton are among those who are reportedly interested in the Villa midfielder but Stoke are currently leading the charge for his signature as Mark Hughes looks to strengthen his offensive options with Ibrahim Afellay expected to be out for the rest of the year through injury.
Following relegation to the Championship, Villa may be unable to hold onto their bright prospect if a big club comes knocking in the summer. Grealish only made nine starts in the Premier League this season.
