Chelsea and Arsenal served blow in pursuit of Bundesliga star
Chelsea and Arsenal target Leon Bailey insists he is in no rush to leave Bayer Leverkusen despite wanting to play at the highest level.
Bailey was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in January after enjoying a breathtaking campaign for Leverkusen.
The 20-year-old has been tipped to make a high profile move at the end of the season with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal among the frontrunners for his signature.
Bailey, who was born in Jamaica but his grandparents have British passports, has even been sounded out by England ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
However, the Bundesliga starlet is ready to take his time before making a big money move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
“Leverkusen is perfect for me,” he told German outlet Bild, via The Daily Mail. “I want to develop and then I can take the next step.
“When I move to a big club, the people there will want to know me. I want to make a name for myself at the highest level."
Of players aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues this season, only Kylian Mbappe (7.76) has a higher WhoScored rating than Bailey (7.56).
