Chelsea forward rules out January departure

Willian has ruled out leaving Chelsea in January amid reported interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

The Brazil international has frequently been linked with a move to United to reunite with Jose Mourinho since Antonio Conte arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Willian has struggled for regular playing time under the Italian but has moved to dismiss suggestions he could leave next month.

“I am always happy at Chelsea. I really like this club a lot with my heart. The fans can be calm [about leaving]. I am a Chelsea player and I am very pleased with the way I have been playing in recent weeks,” Willian told the London Evening Standard on Tuesday night.

“When I play I always try to do my best, to score goals and make assists. Against Huddersfield I did that with my team-mates.”

The 29-year-old played a direct hand in all three of Chelsea’s goals in their win over Huddersfield on Tuesday night – the first time he has managed the feat in 151 Premier League appearances.
