Juventus confirm signing of former Liverpool midfielder

Juventus have announced the signing of German midfielder and former Liverpool man Emre Can.

Can has been heavily linked with a free switch to the Serie A side for some time now and having refused to extend his stay at Anfield, was allowed to leave upon the culmination of his contract.

Manchester City were also rumoured to be interested in Can, but following his release from Liverpool, he has since completed his switch to Juventus.

“Juventus Football Club announces that Emre Can has signed with the Bianconeri to officially join the club on 1 July 2018 on a four-year deal,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

"The versatile midfielder who can also operate in defence, joins Juventus after four years with Liverpool FC. He has made over 150 appearances with the reds, scoring 14 goals for the Anfield side since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014. As well as bringing strength and resilience to the team, Can was officially awarded the ‘2016-17 Premier League Goal of the Season’ for a stunning overhead kick.
