Arsenal are ready to end their pursuit of Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and consider alternatives, reports The Daily Mirror.
Arsene Wenger was expected to rekindle his long-standing interest in Lemar at the end of the season after the Gunners failed with a £90m bid for the 22-year-old on deadline day.
Lemar was open to joining Arsenal or Liverpool over the summer but Monaco blocked his departure after refusing to sell any more of their players.
Liverpool and Barcelona are still interested in the France international and the increased competition for his signature has already convinced Arsenal to consider alternatives.
Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev has already admitted Lemar could leave at the end of the season but Arsenal are unlikely to pursue his signature.
Since the start of last season, only Morgan Sanson (14) has registered more assists than Lemar (13) in Ligue 1.
