Juventus striker close to Wolfsburg move

Juventus striker Simone Zaza is set to accept Wolfsburg’s proposal and move to Germany this summer, according to Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

Zaza, 25, has struggled to force his way into the Juventus first team since joining from Sassuolo last year and has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League as a result.

The 25-year-old quickly became the villain of Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign after being trusted by coach Antonio Conte to come off the bench against Germany in the quarter-final to take a penalty in the shoot-out, only to comically fire over the bar.

Juventus are happy to part ways with Zaza for €30m (£25.7m) and, after taking time to consider the decision, the striker is reportedly coming round to the idea of sacrificing Champions League football in order to gain first-team opportunities at Wolfsburg.

Zaza picked up more yellow cards (6) than he scored goals (5) for Juventus in Serie A last season in 19 appearances.
