Manchester United make contact with Juventus over Lukaku replacement
Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Juventus over a potential deal for Paulo Dybala, The Mirror reports.
The Red Devils are prepared to cash in on striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, who is the subject of interest from Italy in the form of Inter Milan, and could look to a Serie A star to replace him.
Dybala is open to the idea of leaving for pastures new after a difficult season in which he was overshadowed by star signing Cristiano Ronaldo and saw his place in the starting XI come under threat.
Indeed, the Argentine started just 24 of 30 league appearances and endured a torrid campaign in front of goal, scoring just five times from 65 attempts - six per cent conversion - and registering four assists.
That after notching 22 league goals the season previous and a further five in the Champions League in the 2017/18 campaign.
A WhoScored.com rating of 7.08 last season was unsurprisingly his lowest since breaking into the first team at Palermo six years ago and the Argentina international may look to rejuvenate his career elsewhere.
That said, Dybala is not ruling out staying to fight for his place under new Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri and would likely set United back the entirety of any fee they might receive for Lukaku.
