Hotshot Premier League striker wanted by Real Madrid

Real Madrid are the latest club to register an interest in Arsenal forward and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports The Express.

The Gunners are expected to cash in on the Gabon international this summer rather than risk losing one of the Premier League's top marksmen on a free next year.

Aubameyang has a little over a year left to run on his current deal at the Emirates and he has shown no indication that he is prepared to extend his stay in London.

Premier League rivals Manchester United have been linked with a £50m move for Aubameyang, while Barcelona and Inter have both courted the 30-year-old, with the pair both in the market for a new striker.

The trio could now face competition from Real Madrid for Aubameyang, who has scored 17 league goals this season, with Zinedine Zidane supposedly informing the player of his intention to lure him to Spain.

Los Blancos are prepared to cash in on Luka Jovic less than 12 months after his arrival in Madrid after a disappointing debut campaign at the Bernabeu, where the Serb has managed just two league goals.

Aubameyang, though, isn't Real Madrid's top summer target and he sits behind Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland as the club's priorities.
