Raheem Sterling puts Real Madrid on red alert

Raheem Sterling has revealed he would only consider leaving Manchester City for a club outside the Premier League.

The England international was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer as Pep Guardiola pushed for a reunion with Alexis Sanchez.

Guardiola has since insisted Sterling leaving was never part of the plan and the 23-year-old has also ruled out joining the Gunners.

However, the City No.7 has revealed his next transfer will be abroad, putting the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona on red alert.

“I’m happy at Man City at the moment,” he told The Daily Mail. “But nobody knows what the future brings so one day, definitely, it would be nice to play abroad. It would be a great experience.

“Spain’s attractive. Anywhere the weather is nice really. Can’t be in London. I can’t be near my friends. They got to stay down there.”

City are keen to reward Sterling with a new contract following his breathtaking start to the season but the former Liverpool forward will delay talks until after the 2018 World Cup.

Sterling is not shelving talks to weigh up his future, but instead to focus on winning as much silverware with City as possible this season before concentrating on the World Cup in Russia next summer.

The City ace is already enjoying his best ever goalscoring campaign and it’s not even Christmas. Sterling has scored more goals than any other City team-mate (13) this term.

Sterling has scored three goals in his last four matches and each of those goals have been match winners for City. With that in mind, you can purchase shares in Sterling on Football INDEX at £3.10. His share price has dropped 7.08% in the last seven days but he is arguably City's most in form attacker ahead of Sunday's Manchester Derby.
