Manchester City have first refusal on Manchester United target

Manchester City would win any race to sign Manchester United target Jack Harrison as City have first refusal on the young New York City FC star, reports the Sun. 

The winger was called up to the England U21 squad last week having impressed in MLS this season, scoring 10 goals and registering a further three assists. 

Harrison was part of the United youth setup before leaving for the US in 2013 and has been one of the stars of the campaign. 

His good form in the big apple has seen United take an interest in the 20-year-old, but Jose Mourinho’s side would miss out to their rivals in any race to sign Harrison. 

City’s partnership with NYCFC means they have first dibs on Harrison and could bring him back to England if he continues to excel. 

City secured a similar deal for Aaron Mooy from Melbourne City FC in 2016, who, like NYCFC, are co-owned by the City Football Group, before loaning, and eventually selling, the Australian to Huddersfield. 

Harrison has completed more dribbles (54) than any other player aged 21 and under in MLS this season to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of ‘dribbling’.
