Real Madrid want to include a sensational €500m (£450.8m) release clause into Gareth Bale’s new deal in order to ward off future interest from Manchester United, reports Cadena Ser, via ESPN.
Bale, 27, has three years remaining on his existing deal but is reportedly on the verge of extending his stay until June 2022 as Madrid look to secure the long-term services of one of their prized assets.
The Wales international has previously been linked with a move to United and Madrid want to set Bale’s release clause at more than four times the current world record, which Jose Mourinho’s side set when they signed Paul Pogba for £100m in the summer.
Only Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo (18) has scored more headed goals in the last three seasons across Europe’s top five leagues than Bale (13).

That is so dumb
Lol, even in this market he's worth £70m, maybe £80m at most. Does any club respect release clauses anyway?
