Manchester United and Manchester City at front of queue for England international
Manchester United and Manchester City are set to lock horns for Borussia Dortmund whizz Jadon Sancho next summer, claims The Daily Mail.
Sancho will leave Dortmund at the end of the season once he has completed three years in Germany and a return to the Premier League will be his next move.
United were prepared to spend £100m to sign the England international this summer but were forced to shelve their interest after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.
Dortmund are already prepared for Sancho’s departure after signing Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt this summer.
United are considered the frontrunners in the chase for the immensely talented 19-year-old but will face stiff competition from rivals City.
Sancho left City to join Dortmund in 2017 in search of regular playing time but the Premier League champions inserted a clause in his transfer to be informed of any bids for the teenager.
Pep Guardiola will most likely be on the market for a new winger next summer with Leroy Sane’s future at the club far from certain.
Sane, who is currently sidelined for up to seven months with a knee injury, has entered the final two years of his existing deal and is seriously contemplating a move back to Germany amid interest from Bayern Munich.
Only Eden Hazard (15) registered more assists than Sancho (14) in Europe’s top five leagues last season.
