Tammy Abraham has sensationally turned down a loan offer from Wolves to stay at Aston Villa for the remainder of the season, claims The Guardian.
It was widely expected that Abraham would seek to cut short his time at Villa to challenge himself in the Premier League with Wolves.
Nuno is desperate to sign a striker this month to improve Wolves’ attacking options and identified Abraham as his top transfer target.
Wolves made an offer to Chelsea to take Abraham on loan for the remainder of the season and Maurizio Sarri’s side were expected to terminate his stint at Villa.
Abraham was left out of Villa’s entire matchday squad at the weekend and reportedly failed to turn up to training on Monday, suggesting a move to Wolves was a foregone conclusion.
However, it has now sensationally emerged that Abraham has turned down Wolves’ advances and will instead stay with Villa and try to fire them back to the Premier League.
Wolves wanted to sign Abraham on a permanent deal but Chelsea were not interested in selling the 21-year-old permanently, while Abraham is not keen on another loan move.
Abraham is the joint top-scorer in the Championship this season with 16 goals from 20 appearances.
