Real Madrid have announced Lucas Vazquez has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until 2021.
Vazquez, 25, is a product of Madrid’s youth academy but he has been forced to wait patiently for his opportunity in the first team.
In fact, he has only been a first-team player since the start of last season after featuring for Espanyol on a season-long loan deal in the 2014/15 campaign where he made 34 appearances.
However, the Spain international, who is first reserve to Madrid’s fearsome front three, has been rewarded with a new long-term deal with the European champions, which will be officially presented on Thursday.
Only Toni Kroos (5) has registered more assists for Madrid in the league this season than Vazquez (2), who has featured in nearly nine hours of less football than his teammate.
