- Rangers boss Philippe Clement made two changes from the Gers' sole goal defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, before they bounced back to beat Romanian outfit FCSB at Ibrox in their Europa League match in midweek.
- Jack Butland continued in goal behind a back four of James Tavernier, John Souttar, Leon Balogun - who took Robin Pröpper's place - and Jefte. Nicolas Raskin replaced Mohamed Diomande in midfield, to partner Connor Barron.
- Tom Lawrence, who netted the opener on Thursday night, started alongside Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny - who bagged a brace against Bucharest - in support of Cyriel Dessers up front. Hamza Igamane scored off the bench so could start against Saints on Sunday.
- St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson made three changes after Saints lost 1-0 to Dundee United in Paisley prior to the international break, before the Buddies were beaten 4-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday afternoon.
- Scott Tanser came back into the Buddies backline, replacing Richard Taylor, to accompany Charles Dunne, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in front of Ellery Balcombe.
- Roland Idowu and Caolan Boyd-Munce made way for Oisin Smyth to start alongside Mark O'Hara and Killian Phillips in midfield. The incoming Greg Kiltie looked to support Kevin van Veen and Toyosi Olusanya in attack.
