- Hearts boss Steven Naismith named an unchanged Jambos eleven, despite a goalless stalemate against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, before they secured third place despite being swept aside 3-0 at Celtic Park against the league leaders.
- Zander Clark was the outstanding performer in goal, behind a back three of Stephen Kingsley, Kye Rowles and Frankie Kent. Alex Cochrane started on the left flank once more, as the Jambos continued with a three-at-the-back formation.
- Dexter Lembikisa remained at right wing-back despite Nathaniel Atkinson returning from injury. Jorge Grant, Cammy Devlin and Beni Baningime carried on in the middle of the park. Kenneth Vargas joined Lawrence Shankland in attack.
- Dundee manager Tony Docherty made two changes from the Dee team that scarcely lost 2-1 at home to Celtic, before St Mirren clinched an impressive 3-1 victory at Dens Park last weekend.
- Aaron Donnelly returned to the Dee's defence, joining Antonio Portales and Ricki Lamie in the back three at Josh Mulligan's expense. Owen Dodgson remained at left wing-back, as Jordan McGhee carried on at right wing-back.
- The other alteration saw Lyall Cameron replace Malachi Boateng to join Mo Sylla and Luke McCowan - captain in Joe Shaughnessy's absence - in the middle of the park. Scott Tiffoney and Amadou Bakayoko started as the strike duo up front.
