Leon Bailey was forced off early in the first half of the 2-1 win at Leicester prior to the international break. "It is a hamstring. I don't know exactly how bad his injury is," head coach Unai Emery said after the victory at the King Power Stadium. There is no timeframe on Bailey's return but the welcome of Everton comes too soon for the winger.
Having started the 2-0 win over Finland in midweek, Ezri Konsa was forced off midway through the second half with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Villa are hoping the issue isn't too serious with the centre-back a doubt for Saturday's welcome of Everton.
Another centre-back considered a doubt for Saturday's game against Everton, Diego Carlos is believed to have returned to training this week, so it looks as though Unai Emery has cover for Konsa if required.
Like Konsa and Carlos, Jaden Philogene will be assessed having missed the 2-1 win at Leicester owing to a knock sustained in training. "Hopefully, when we come back again, Jaden could be available again to play," Emery said after the Leicester victory and chances are he'll be passed fit for Saturday.
Matty Cash will miss the welcome of Everton owing to a hamstring injury. "It’s something in the hamstring," Emery said of the right-back following his early withdrawal in the 2-0 loss to Arsenal. Cash is likely to be available again later this month.
Following a year on the sidelines, Tyrone Mings is back in training as he recovers from a serious knee issue. However, Mings is still some way off a first team return as he builds up fitness, so he's likely to remain out until after the October international break.
Another back in training, Boubacar Kamara suffered an ACL injury in Aston Villa's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United back in February. However, like Mings, Kamara needs to work on his fitness and is also expected to remain sidelined for the next month or so.
