Chelsea identify new striker, Tottenham won't sell defender: Sunday's top transfer rumours
Chelsea are considering a move for Lille striker Jonathan David, while Newcastle are closing in on the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Here we run through today's top transfer rumours.
Chelsea eye Lille forward
Chelsea have held talks with the representatives of Lille striker Jonathan David ahead of a summer move, reports the Athletic.
The Canada international has been linked with a Premier League switch, with Manchester United also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.
David has one year left to run on his current deal at Lille and the French side are expected to cash in on the striker, who scored 19 league goals last season, this summer.
Newcastle close in on Everton forward
Newcastle are closing in on the signing of Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, reports the Guardian.
Calvert-Lewin has just a year left to run on his current deal at Goodison Park and the Toffees are keen to sell this summer rather than lose him on a free next year.
The 27-year-old scored seven times in the Premier League last season and won the second most aerial duels (141) in the division.
Tottenham won't sell star centre-back
Tottenham have no intention of selling star centre-back Cristian Romero this summer, according to Football Insider.
Romero, who is currently with the Argentina national team for the Copa America, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
However, Spurs will not entertain any offers for the 26-year-old, who is a key player for the north London side.
Chelsea identify Olise alternative
Chelsea are set to push to sign Athletic Club's Nico Williams having missed out on Michael Olise, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Blues were confident of signing Olise this summer having missed out on the Frenchman last year, but the winger has decided move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
That's seen Chelsea turn their focus to Williams, who has starred for Spain at Euro 2024 so far.
"His showing against Italy was just one example of what he can bring to his next side. With such a low release clause, the winger could prove the signing of the summer." 🗣️@BenMcAleer1 on why Nico Williams will be a transfer target for Europe's elite after #EURO2024 👇

Key Germany star unlikely to extend Bayern stay
Joshua Kimmich is unlikely to extend his Bayern contract, which runs until 2025, with the club open to selling the Germany international this summer, reports Sky Sports Germany.
Kimmich has been linked with a move away from Bayern in recent months with a Premier League switch on the cards.
While the player is focused on Euro 2024, he is expected to depart the German side later this year with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal admirers of Kimmich.
Newcastle launch move for Wolves centre-back
Newcastle have cash-plus-player offer for Wolves centre-back Max Kilman as they look to shore up their backline, reports the Telegraph.
Kilman has again been linked with a move away from Molineux, with West Ham also credited with an interest in the 27-year-old.
However, the Magpies will feel confident of pipping the Hammers to Kilman, who extended his Wolves contract last year.
