Man Utd to test Bayern's resolve for Goretzka

Manchester United's interest in Leon Goretzka has intensified as speculation over his Bayern Munich future rumbles on, reports The Sun.

Goretzka has entered the final 12 months of his current Bayern deal and is becoming increasingly agitated with how slowly contract talks are progressing.

The Red Devils have reportedly already been in contact with Goretzka's representatives and made it clear they will blow Bayern's best offer out of the water.

Goretzka's immediate preference is to renew with Bayern but the longer talks drag out the more confident United will get.

There is also a fear at Bayern that Goretzka could leave the club for nothing next summer if nothing is agreed and United will be ready to make a cut-price deal.

United expect Paris Saint-Germain to make a formal approach for Paul Pogba this summer, as the France international has also entered the final year of his deal.

Pogba has reportedly turned down United's new offer of £350,000-a-week, as he seeks to leave the club for the second time in his career.

Goretzka has the best minutes-per-goal contribution of any central midfielder over the last two Bundesliga campaigns (every 153.2 minutes of playing time).
