Palace defender commits future

Crystal Palace have announced defender Pape Souare has put pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles signed Souare in January last year and the left-back has proven to be a regular in Alan Pardew’s starting line up.

Souare, 25, has dedicated his new deal to the fans. “I just want to thank every fan for helping me to find my level and the manager as well,” he told the Palace official website.

“I’m very happy to be at this club.”

Since the start of the season, only three Palace players have featured in more Premier League minutes than Souare (1,800).
