Sergio Ramos has announced he has turned down an offer from China and wants to retire at Real Madrid.
Madrid president Florentino Perez sensationally revealed earlier this week that Ramos had requested to leave this summer.
Perez claimed Ramos had revealed a substantial offer from China and wanted to be granted a free transfer.
Ramos responded by calling a press conference and has used it to pledge his loyalty to the Spanish giants.
“There has been too much speculation about my future and I wanted to reiterate my commitment to the club,” he said at his press conference.
“I have no intention of leaving the club and wish to retire here. We haven’t discussed money and my intention is to talk about this in a frank manner with the president.
“There is an offer from China and If I didn’t feel wanted then it’s an alternative, but at present my deal is with Real Madrid and my plan is to see out my contract.”
The 33-year-old has endured one of his worst seasons as a Madrid player and there have been suggestions his relationship with Perez had reached breaking point.
Ramos finished a league campaign with a WhoScored rating below 7.00 for the first time since we started receiving OPTA statistics in 2009.
