Arsenal told to pay £25m for Premier League defender

West Ham have put a £25m price tag on Jonny Evans amid interest from Arsenal, according to The Daily Mail.

Evans, 28, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal as Arsene Wenger desperately looks to sign a new centre back before the transfer window shuts next week.

West Brom only paid £6m to sign Evans from Manchester United last summer but Tony Pulis is determined to milk Arsenal dry if they turn to his star defender towards the end of the window.

Evans has won possession in the defensive third more times than any other West Brom player (128) in the Premier League since the start of the last season.
