Guardiola not speaking to Bayern midfielder

Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode has revealed Pep Guardiola hardly speaks to him and his future at the Allianz Arena is uncertain.

Rode, 25, has been on the fringes of the Bayern squad since being signed by Guardiola from Frankfurt in 2014.

The German midfielder has barely featured since his arrival and has now revealed Guardiola rarely speaks to him.

“Pep Guardiola isn’t talking a lot to me, so I don’t really know where I stand or why I am not playing on a more regular basis,” Rode told Goal.com  , via 101 Great Goals. “Matthias Sammer is talking more often to me, he comes up to me and he knows my situation of course.

“A lot of people within the club are satisfied with me, but I am not satisfied with my playing time. It is not a pleasant situation, but I am trying in any case to keep my head up. You cannot let it bring you down”

“I am going to keep going in order to help the team and I can only hope things get better. In my first year it went better, I played more than 30 games and have always maintained my performance level. The team has a lot of brilliant players, but I have shown I can compete.”

Rode has only started two league matches this season and made a further nine appearances from the substitutes’ bench and it looks increasingly likely that his future looks set away from the Allianz Arena unless new manager Carlo Ancelotti factors him in his first-team plans next season.
