Leicester City are on the verge of completing their first signing of the New Year after activating a £3.7m release clause in Birmingham City winger's Demarai Gray contract.
Claudio Ranieri’s side tried to sign Gray over the summer but were rebuffed in their attempts and the 19-year-old then went on to sign a new deal with Birmingham.
However, they’ve made a breakthrough in their pursuit of the England Under-20 international and Gray undertook his medical on Saturday. It remains unclear, however, if Gray will return to Birmingham for the remainder of the season or link up with his new Leicester teammate straight away.
The teenager has scored one goal for Birmingham in the Championship this season and no teammate has had more shots than Gray thus far (66).
