AS Monaco are set to sign Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao on a season-long loan deal, reports AS.
The Ligue 1 outfit have moved quickly to replace Layvin Kurzawa, whose impending move to PSG is expected to be confirmed imminently.
Coentrao, 27, joined Madrid in 2011 but has only managed 56 appearances in La Liga having seen his Los Blancos career hampered by injuries and demotions.
The Portugal international failed to feature in Rafa Benitez’s pre season plans and has since been told his future lays away from the Santiago Bernabéu.
In fact, of Madrid players to have made more than five appearances in La Liga last season, only Samir Khedira (6.30) gained a lower WhoScored rating than Coentrao (6.36).
