Trippier considering Tottenham future after England snub

Kieran Trippier is seriously considering his future at Tottenham after being axed from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the UEFA Nations Finals next month, claims The Daily Mail.

Trippier has been an integral part of Southgate’s plans for England and was one of the country’s best players at the 2018 World Cup.

The 28-year-old has struggled to rediscover the same form he showed in Russia with Tottenham this season and has now lost his place in the Three Lions squad to Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Tottenham are also understood to be open to offers for Trippier this summer following a downturn in form and Napoli have already confirmed their interest.

Trippier still has three years left to run on his existing Tottenham contract but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are open to selling the right-back for around £30m.

Manchester United have previously been linked with a move for Trippier and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the market for a new right-back to replace Antonio Valencia.

It remains to be seen whether Trippier is still someone of interest to United and whether Tottenham would increase their asking price as a result of an enquiry from a direct rival.

Since the beginning of last season, no defender has completed more crosses (excluding corners) than Trippier in the Premier League (53).
