Van Gaal to remain United boss next season

Louis van Gaal will not be sacked this summer and will see out the remaining year of his contract at Manchester United next season, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

The Dutchman, who used to be a columnist for the newspaper, had widely been expected to step down at the end of the season following a turbulent two years at the helm.

Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked with the United post and has reportedly signed a pre-agreement with the Red Devils to ensure no other club can poach his services in the mean time.

However, it would now appear Van Gaal has fended off the threat of Mourinho and will see out the remaining 12 months of the three-year deal he penned when he replaced David Moyes two years ago.

Van Gaal to remain United boss next season

Van Gaal has already been heavily involved in the planning of the pre-season tour and has reportedly already been given a transfer budget for the summer.

United are currently fifth and only one point behind rivals Manchester City and you’d expect his ability to ensure United have Champions League football next season will play heavily on what happens in the future.
