Manchester United’s stance on Pogba unchanged despite midfielder’s comments

Manchester United still have no intention of selling Paul Pogba despite the midfielder revealing he wants a new challenge this summer, claims the London Evening Standard.

Pogba revealed during an Adidas promotional tour in Japan he is considering his future at Old Trafford amid interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.

Madrid are desperate to sign Pogba this summer but have so far failed to get United to even consider the Frenchman’s departure.

Zinedine Zidane’s side hoped Pogba’s comments would accelerate talks between the two sides but United are still adamant he will not be sold this summer.

While United are far from impressed over Pogba’s comments, they are still planning for next season with the 2018 World Cup winner in mind.

Pogba still has three years left to run on his current United deal and the Red Devils are under no pressure to sell.

It’s not as straightforward as that, as refusing to sell Pogba will mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to try and get the best out of an unhappy player.

Nevertheless, Pogba’s comments have not had the intended impact and Madrid and Juventus still face bidding in the region of £150m to have any chance of signing the 26-year-old this summer.

Pogba enjoyed his best ever league campaign last season in terms of goals scored (13) but he was widely accused of downing tools for most of it.
