Paris Saint-Germain make surprise enquiry for Bayern Munich midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain have approached Bayern Munich about Renato Sanches' availability this month, claims RMC Sport.

Thomas Tuchel is desperately scrambling to bolster his midfield options before the transfer window shuts next Thursday.

Marco Verratti has added to Tuchel’s midfield woes after spraining his ankle last weekend, reinforcing the need to sign someone this month.

Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, Everton ace Idrissa Gueye, Chelsea target Leandro Paredes and Borussia Dortmund youngster Julian Weigl have all been linked with a move to PSG at once stage this month.

It has now emerged that Sanches is also on their radar while deals for their other targets continue to stall.

Sanches has endured a startling poor career since helping Portugal win the 2016 European Championships, even enduring a failed loan stint at Swansea in that time.

PSG tried to sign Sanches last summer and have rekindled their interest in the wake of their difficult search for a new midfielder, though Paredes remains the closest of their targets to joining.

The 21-year-old has made 11 league appearances for Bayern this season and only four of those have been starts.

In fact, Bayern have not won any of the four league matches Sanches has started this season.
