Wolfsburg midfielder eyes Serie A move

Daniel Caligiuri has revealed he has one eye on moving to Serie A and could leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old is a German-born Italian and has been called up to the Italy national squad in the past.

Caligiuri, who has been linked with Lazio, has spent his entire career in Germany but is eyeing a move to Serie A in order to increase his chances of national recognition.

“I am very happy in Germany, I like everything here, but it’s normal that I think about returning to Italy,” Caligiuri told Fox Sports, via Football Italia.

“I would be closer to getting into the national team. My contract expires in June, but for now I’m not think about it. I am thinking about the league, we need to return to winning and scoring.”
