PSG are weighing up a move for Barcelona midfielder Gavi this summer, reports the Athletic.

PSG are resigned to losing star forward Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season and are looking to use the funds saved from his monster contract to strengthen elsewhere.

Gavi is among those admired by the French giants as PSG look into the possibility to revamping their midfield.

Luis Enrique is a huge fan of Gavi, who was handed his Spain debut at 17 years of age by the PSG boss.

Barcelona are unlikely to entertain offers for the teenager but their perilous financial situation means they may be forced into selling the Spain international.

However, PSG would need to convince boyhood Barcelona fan Gavi to swap Spain for France, which would prove easier said than done.

Gavi, 19, will miss the rest of the season and Euro 2024 after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while on international duty with Spain in November.

Gavi's current deal at Camp Nou runs until 2026 and contains a whopping €1bn release clause in his contract.
