Wilson signs new Cherries deal

Callum Wilson has ended speculation regarding his future at Bournemouth after putting pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Dean Court, the newly promoted Premier League club has announced.

Wilson, 23, scored 20 goals in his first year at the club last season, as Bournemouth secured promotion from the Championship as league winners.

The England U21 international, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa this summer, is excited about the future with the Cherries.

“Playing in the Premier League is all I’ve ever dreamed of. You want to play against the players you idolise,” he told Bournemouth’s official website.

“I signed from Coventry thinking we would get to the Premier League in the next few years and we did it in the first season.

“There’s no reason, at this moment in time, why anyone would want to leave because we are in the Premier League and have a great manager, who is young and wants to be successful.”

The former Coventry striker scored more clear-cut chances (19) than any other player in the Championship last season.
