Bayern Munich line up Atletico Madrid ace as Douglas Costa replacement
Bayern Munich will move to sign Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco if they fail to keep hold of Douglas Costa at the end of the season, reports AS.
Carlo Ancelotti has move to reject comments made by Costa suggesting he is unhappy and would assess his future at the club at the end of the campaign but the Bundesliga giants are seemingly preparing for life without the Brazilian.
Costa, 26, was a revelation for Bayern under Pep Guardiola last season but has since struggled to nail down a regular starting berth under Ancelotti and revealed a move to England interested him over the weekend.
Bayern will be reluctant to lose the former Shakhtar winger but have lined up a move for Atletico ace Carrasco, despite the fact he only signed a new long-term deal with the Spanish giants in October.
The Belgium international enjoyed a purple patch of form around the time of his new contract, where he played a direct hand in five goals in their 7-1 win over Granada, but his decisiveness has since dried up.
In fact, Carrasco has not scored or assisted in any of his last 11 matches in all competitions, while only Kevin Gameiro (6.21) has garnered a lower WhoScored rating for Atletico in the league in that time since Carrasco (6.27).
