Watch: Atletico Madrid ace pull off stunning saves in Champions League
Atletico Madrid secured their place in the Champions League quarter finals with a hard fought 0-0 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night but were perhaps grateful for Jan Oblak’s performance in goal.
Having thrashed Leverkusen 4-2 in Germany in the reverse leg, there was little pressure on Diego Simeone’s side in midweek but that match didn’t come without some scary moments.
Oblak, 24, in only his fifth appearance since returning from a serious shoulder injury that kept him sidelined for more than two months, produced a stunning triple save before Javier Hernandez fired just wide to preserve Atletico’s formidable home record in the champions league.
Courtesy of BT Sport, you can relive the moment Oblak thwarted Leverkusen on three occasions in the video below.
One. Twice. Three times... How have @bayer04_en not scored here?!

Take a bow, Jan Oblak! 👏👏👏 #UCL https://t.co/qbz15tHS8Z
Atletico have incredibly now kept 17 clean sheets in their last 20 Champions League home matches and will have all of their focus on avenging two final defeats in recent years to celebrate their last season at the Vicente Calderon with European glory.
