Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the striker has told Borussia Dortmund he wants to stay with the club, reports Bild, via Bleacher Report.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been heavily linked with a move for the Dortmund ace this month but were told they would have to meet their £65m valuation in order to sign him.
City are looking to bolster their strike force this summer to help ease the burden on Sergio Aguero but will now need to look elsewhere after Aubameyang informed Thomas Tuchel’s side of his desire to stay put.
Only Robert Lewandowski (30) scored more league goals in the Bundesliga last season than Aubameyang (25).

I don't understand why Guardiola wants Aubameyang so badly. They have Aguero to play the striker role, and player like Aubameyang cannot simply be a back-up player. It's not Bundesliga, Pep won't be able to play 2-3-5 formation anymore.
@kuba2903 maybe he wants to go back to his barca 4-3-3 with three strikers/forwards?
