Juventus have confirmed the arrival of Genoa centre-back Cristian Romero on a five-year deal until the summer of 2024.
The Old Lady have agreed a deal worth €26m (£23.3m) for the 21-year-old but he will return to Genoa on loan next season.
Juventus have made strengthening at the back a priority this summer having already prised Merih Demiral from Sassuolo.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are also deep in talks with Ajax about captain Matthijs de Ligt, having already agreed personal terms with the teenage centre-back.
Juventus are now on the brink of agreeing a fee with Ajax in the region of €67m (£60.2m).
Romero will need to learn to curb his temper and improve his decision making after picking up 10 yellow cards, two red cards and conceding two penalties in Serie A last season.
The former Argentina U20 international made 27 league appearances for Genoa last season and averaged 2.3 tackles per game.
He even proved a threat in the opposition box, playing a direct hand in four goals (two goals, two assists).
