New MLS franchise Los Angeles FC are preparing to offer Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic a £5m-a-season deal at the end of the current campaign, reports The Daily Mail.
Ibrahimovic, 35, is out of contract at the end of the season but United are hopeful of securing his services for another season after making a huge impact in the Premier League this season.
However, the former Sweden international’s future at United remains uncertain beyond the end of the current campaign and there has been plenty of interest from MLS since the turn of the year.
LAFC are set to make their debut in MLS next march and want to make Ibrahimovic their marquee signing to inspire them to immediate success and that would open up the chance for Ibrahimovic to return to United on loan next season.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker has carried United with his goals at times this season and has already scored more Premier League goals this season than any United player has managed since the start of last season (17).
