Spurs rekindle interest in England frontman

Tottenham are confident they can complete a £20m deal for Saido Berahino in the summer after repairing their relationship with West Brom, according to The Daily Mirror.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been heavily linked with a move for Berahino in the last two transfer windows and their pursuit of the Baggies striker, which led the youngster to had in a transfer request, had angered the West Brom hierarchy.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has since held peace talks with West Brom and is now confident of securing the 22-year-old’s services for £20m in the summer, despite the fact the Baggies turned down £24m from Newcastle in January.

Berahino has only recently returned to first-team action after being sidelined for most of the first-half of the season by manager Tony Pulis following his behaviour towards forcing a move away from the Hawthorns last summer.

The England Under-21 international has only scored one league goal in his last 17 appearances for West Brom and is their lowest rated player to have made at least 10 league starts this season (6.37 rating).
