Phil Foden unhappy at Manchester City

Phil Foden is growing increasingly frustrated at Manchester City by a lack of playing time, claims The Daily Telegraph.

The England international has only started one of City's last 10 Premier League matches and was reportedly particularly unhappy at his role against Newcastle.

Foden was the WhoScored Player of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals before Christmas following an impressive showin against Arsenal.

However, Pep Guardiola dropped Foden to the bench for City's 2-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day and he only came on in stoppage time to run down the clock.

The 20-year-old is still fully committed to City and is not considering his future at his boyhood club, though is unhappy at his relatively limited role in the Premier League.

Foden has only started 12 of a possible 23 matches in all competitions this season but post-lockdown he has arguably been one of City's best performers.

In fact, excluding substitute appearances only Kevin De Bruyne (7.94) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Foden (7.48) post-lockdown of all City players.
